Learn more about Maples Law Firm

Alan Maples, J.D. utilizes his extensive and varied educational, work, and life experiences to benefit his clients with a holistic approach to life and legacy planning. In the past, he worked at a Registered Investment Advisory firm where he was Chief Compliance Officer and served the needs of hundreds of clients and managed over $90 million of their assets. That volume, however, did not allow Alan to focus on the needs of his clients in the manner he wanted to. Looking for an environment that was not merely transactional, that treated clients as friends, and that fostered a true ongoing advisory relationship, led Alan to open the Maples Law Firm, to practice in the areas of Probate, Estate and Financial Planning.

Alan’s educational journey began at Fort Worth All Saints’ Episcopal School, then to Arlington Heights High School, and then to Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Business. Continuing his education, Alan pursued a Master’s degree at Texas A&M and graduated in 1986 with a Master of Agriculture degree in Land Economics and Real Estate. After graduation from A&M, Alan worked in banking, finance, and real estate. He completed his college education at Baylor University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1994, concentrating his studies in Estate Planning and Probate.

After Law School, Alan began work as a Law Clerk for a Federal Judge, and then as a trial attorney in a law firm, before founding his own Law Firm focusing on the areas of Estate Planning and Probate. Alan is a Certified Mediator and a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Probate Bar Association, and Fort Worth Business and Estate Council. He has been recognized for numerous years as one of the Top Attorneys in Ft. Worth by Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West Magazine.

Alan enjoys volunteering for Academy4, Mayfest, Trinity Habitat for Humanity, and the Fort Worth Invitational Professional Golf Tournament at Colonial. He has been President of the Boards of Directors of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County A&M Club, Ft. Worth YMCA Camp Carter, All Saints’ Alumni Association, and the Arlington Heights HS Football Booster Club.

He and Alisa, his wife of over 30 years, live in Fort Worth, Texas. Alisa works as the office manager for Trinity Habitat for Humanity. They have two sons; the eldest an A&M graduate in Finance currently serving our country as an Air Force pilot and his younger brother who is a recent A&M graduate in Agricultural Economics, pursuing his career in Houston.

In their free time, Alan and Alisa enjoy spending time outdoors at their family ranch in the Hill Country, and travel, often to visit their children, snow ski or scuba dive.
